VLV-Life Purpose Find out what your purpose is-woman looking her purpose

Life Purpose: Find out what your purpose is and work hard to achieve your goals. Did you wake up this morning having your next actions clear, the updated project inventory and the objectives of this year defined, but you perceive that something is missing out there and that has just made sense of the whole? Maybe you are looking for life.
In this article, you will learn how to find your life purpose to achieve your dreams and goals in the best way.

But first, what is the purpose of life?

The purpose of life is a personal statement that, when fulfilled, leads us to a state of maximum well-being. That state of ultimate well-being that is fulfilled with the purpose has a unique name for each one. Some call it happiness, well-being, completion, or satisfaction, and you surely have your word for it.

The purpose is something that usually happens so that we go to that positive state. Imagine, remember a situation in which you felt that state of well-being, and remember what you did to make it happen. When you have it, look for a second and a third situation. If you pay attention, you will see that there is a pattern.

It can be anything like being, doing, feeling, creating, learning, and those verbs can apply to you, your family, anyone. Each one has their own.

Although it is not a requirement, the purpose almost always has a transpersonal meaning: to do things for something or someone beyond ourselves.

Discovering the purpose of life is finding that pattern and verbalizing it in a sentence or paragraph. It is not that the phrase has more value than the pattern itself, but putting a concept in writing forces us to specify.

Why is having a life purpose so important?

When a situation fulfills the purpose and well-being included, we say that it aligns with our life purpose.

Now that you know the advantage of our actions and goals being aligned with life’s purpose, why would you want to do something that is not aligned? Why spend energy, time, and focus on things that will not make you feel as good as your ultimate well-being? From this moment on, it will become a polarized filter through which we will see our commitments.

The purpose of life helps you choose better when you have to decide: Am I looking for a new job offer, or do I fill out my current job? Do I need a professional change? Do I agree to collaborate in the project that they have proposed to me? With the number of opportunities that we have (and can create) during our life, we already have a good triage criterion.

Another application of purpose is in defining our own goals. When we do, either using the ‘SMART’ method, the ‘objective decalogue’ method, etc. As we have set it, we may find that the objective is not achievable (because it is not ecological for us or because it is not in our power to achieve it). If this is the case, we can use the purpose to search for the objective goal (ask ourselves ‘what do we want that objective for’), and from there seek another objective that fulfills our desire.

How can you find your life purpose?

It is not easy, requires reflection, and considers the questions appropriately. The purpose of life is continuous. It does not begin or is never completed and has to do with what you do and feel. Answer the questions What? How? and for what or who?

Here are a series of questions that usually help:

  • What do I like to do? What makes me lose track of time? How do I use my free time?

  • What makes me feel good about myself?

  • How can I use my skills to help others?

  • What would I do if I only had six months to live?

  • Or what would you do if you had all the time and money in the world?

  • What do I believe in?

Other authors recommend you take a blank page and write the first thing that comes to mind. Read it again, add something that is missing, remove something that is left over. Repeat the process until you feel you fully identify with that phrase. Don’t worry if you don’t get the desired result after 50 tries. Be persistent.

Of course, ask yourself these questions without thinking about what others want or expect from you. It’s about you living your life, not what others want you to live.

Conclusions

Now that you know how to find your life purpose, you can guarantee your success by setting goals and objectives that go according to them and enjoy your passion from another point of view.
